In the process, we have used seven different contractors, four M&E Specialists and three Architects, but only one quantity surveyor who has ensured that we have got good value for money.

ABOUT US

Hand Deere & Cox are a practice offering professional construction services to the private and public sectors in the construction industry.

HDC dates back to 1973 at which time Alan Hand setup in business with John Hatton under the name of Hatton & Hand.  Hand Deere & Cox became the practice's name when Hatton & Hand merged with Monk & Deere in 1989.

We are a practice that pride ourselves in the personal service we provide. Each client's account is handled by an overseeing Partner.  In fact, it is quite usual for a Partner to act as the primary contact for more complex or sensitive projects.

The core principle of the practice is to provide cost information, guidance and control at each stage of a project. We place our clients in control by keeping them aware of the cost and contractual implications of their decisions during the complicated process of building procurement.

Testament to the quality of our service, the practice obtains the vast majority of its business through repeat custom.  As a result we have developed several long term relationships with our current client list.

For more information on the type of project work we are involved in, please refer to our portfolio.

If you are interested in joining the HDC family then please take a look at the roles we are interested in below:

PROJECT QUANTITY SURVEYOR

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the Ascot office.  Our project workload is largely in the education, higher education, residential and care sectors with values ranging from £500k to £10M.  We welcome applications from those local to our offices, with a minimum of 5 years PQS experience in the sectors we have outlined above.

TRAINEE & GRADUATE ROLES

As an RICS accredited practice we are committed to promoting and expanding the profession.  We invest in the future of the business by guiding young surveyors through their studies and RICS Assessment of Professional Competence.

The practice is proud of its 100% pass rate for those who embark on the challenge of becoming qualified.  This process is aided by stewardship from the Partners, fellow candidates and an approved RICS structured training programme.

PLACEMENTS & INTERNSHIPS

For individuals who wish to gain valuable experience to assist them with their studies, HDC offer short and longer term work experience programmes.
