Sixth Form Centre
The new sixth form centre sought in increase teaching capacity as well as provide an inspirational environment for students continuing into higher education.
Modular, design and build construction was selected, not only for cost purposes, but for speed of delivery, deferment of risk and reduction in impact on school activities.
The two-story building comprises of four primary blocks, housing 12 large classrooms, staff rooms and gender-neutral WC facilities. The primary access point features a glazed atrium to add valuable natural light and a double height, functional breakout space. Externally, the building utilises render, timber and masonry to break up the large elevation and multi-level flat roofs to add interest to the building profile.
A green field site on the perimeter of the school grounds was selected to permit future expandability of the facility.
