AKO Library and Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT)

The concept of the AKO Centre was to redevelop the current library to provide a flexible and multifunctional space able to support both individual study and collaborative work.  Part of this refurbishment was to incorporate a 'Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching' to provide a vital resource for the whole school community.

The library includes write on cupboards, desks and walls, booths and break out spaces and to encourage and facilitate the multiple forms of learning.  Connecting the two floors within the library is an impressive birch staircase creating a masterful centrepiece.

Colour and lighting schemes were sensitively selected to add a contemporary flavour to the Grade II listed building, whilst the impressive glazing package creates an aura of spaciousness and tranquillity.
