Halstead Preparatory School Dining Hall Extension

Halstead Preparatory School Dining Hall Extension

This growing independent school was badly in need of more space in order to serve its growing numbers but also to be able to offer further specialist subjects.

The resultant project was to involve two phases: the first being the construction of a modern dining hall building with specialist teaching spaces overhead, and the second, to re-model the main Victorian school building.  Both phases involved large parts of the works to be completed within a live school environment.

As can be seen from the photographs, the design is a modern building that marries sweet chestnut cladding, facing brickwork, zinc cladding and glazing.

The completed project has been overwhelmingly well received by the end user and the local council alike.
